The Summit District of Haleakalā National Park remains closed through the weekend for storm recovery, including road clearing and facility restoration. It will reopen once conditions are safe.

The Kīpahulu District is open to the public. Kīpahulu Campground reopens today, Friday, Aug. 21.

For safety, visitors and local residents should respect all state and county road closures. Notifications regarding park reopening will be posted on the park’s website and social media channels. Visitors should monitor the state of Hawaii and Maui County websites for updates regarding possible road closures.

For updates on park conditions visit www.nps.gov/hale.
