Hale Makua’s 80th anniversary celebration week

Hale Makua will gather with employees, residents, and families for a week-long celebration marking an 80 year milestone of serving the Maui community. 

Organization leaders say: “What began as a single vision in 1946 has grown into a comprehensive foundation of care for Maui. Today, Hale Makua’s continuum of healthcare services encompasses two nursing homes and rehabilitation centers, a home health agency, an adult day health center, an adult residential care home, and a care management program.”

Looking to the future, Hale Makua is developing plans for a new healthcare complex, currently referred to as the “CarePlex”, which will feature an ambulatory surgery center, a new rehabilitation center, and expanded specialty care services to meet the island’s growing health needs. Additionally, the organization is advancing plans to build workforce housing targeted for entry-level healthcare and education workers, as well as residents impacted by the Maui wildfires.

Eight decades after its formation, Hale Makua continues to look forward, expanding its initiatives to ensure the local community remains supported for generations to come.
