BRIEF: Power Outage in Mahinahina & Kahana

(Update: 9:45 a.m.) Electrical service has been restored to customers in areas of Mahinahina & Kahana as of 9:09am.

(Posted 7:59 a.m.) Maui Electric Company confirmed a power outage in parts of Mahinahina and Kahana at around 7:47 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012.

Affected areas include: Akahele Street, various Well Facilities, West Maui Airport, Lower Honoapiilani Highway, Falls of Kahana, Hoohui Road, Kahana Ridge, Honoapiilani Highway, Haukoe Point Subdivision, Hui “E” Road and laterals.

MECO is working to identify the cause and restore electrical service as quickly and safely as possible.

An update will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
