Visitor Pulled in Critical Condition From West Maui Waters

A 45-year-old woman was pulled from the ocean in West Maui on Sunday afternoon by other snorkelers in the area, authorities said.

The incident was reported at 1:30 p.m. in the area fronting the Sheraton Resort.

Authorities say crews from the hotel initiated CPR prior to the arrival of firefighting personnel from Ladder 3, who took over upon arrival.

The patient, who was a visitor to the islands, was then transported by medics to the hospital in critical condition.
