The man suffered a two-inch laceration to his forehead and a broken femur, according to Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.

The patient was initially extricated by Maui Fire and Police Department personnel to the roadway where medics were standing by.  The patient was then taken to the Hana Ball Park where Medevac crews were dispatched to transport the man to the Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Maui County Paramedics Association spokesperson Steven Rossi said the man was treated with advanced life support care and was transported in serious condition.
