Public Opinions Sought in 2012 Maui County Survey

Residents from the County of Maui are invited to fill out a community survey drafted by the County of Maui.

The annual survey can be found online at: http://www.co.maui.hi.us/2012communitysurvey.

Results from the annual survey help Budget Office staff to properly prioritize county projects and funding.

The survey includes coverage of all public services in the county and asks whether residents are satisfied or dissatisfied with the services provided.

“This is a way for county residents to get the most for their money,” said Mayor Alan Arakawa. “Our tax dollars go toward funding police and fire, sewer and water, garbage pickup and other services so this is your chance to help us run a more effective, efficient and responsive government.”

Budget Director Sandy Baz said the survey is an extension of the Community Budget Meetings which are being held across the county.  The survey, Baz said, will serve to expand the county’s outreach to the community.

“This is just another convenient way for Maui’s citizens to give us their input. We want everyone’s voice to be heard,” said Baz.

For those without internet access, hard copies of this 25-question survey are available at the front desk of the mayor’s office and at the upcoming Community Budget Meetings. The community will also have a chance to complete the survey at the county booth at this weekend’s Maui Fair. To request a printed copy of the survey call the Maui County Mayor’s Office at 270-7855.
