The intended purpose of the contribution is to assist with the Maui Canoe Club’s efforts to improve its infrastructure by increasing the number of outrigger canoes to serve both Maui residents and visitors to the island.

“We extend our appreciation to you and your fellow volunteer board leaders, and to all of your paddlers—and extend our best wishes for safe and fun paddling”, said Meredith J. Ching, Senior Vice President, Government & Community Relations, Alexander & Baldwin, Inc.

Maui Canoe Club president, Michael Elam said the members are pleased to receive the donation.  “A&B’s commitment to helping our club continue to provide recreational paddling opportunities for our members and visitors is a great benefit to our club as well as to our community,” he said.
