Oct. 11, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 113 New Cases in Hawai‘i, 4 Deaths
In Maui County, the seven day average for new cases daily is 15, with a 2.1% test positivity rate over 14 days. This is -52% from Sept. 26 to Oct. 9, 2021. For every 100,000 residents in Maui County, there have been an average of 9.0 newly reported cases per day over the last seven days.
Oct. 10, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 218 New Cases in Hawai‘i, 4 Deaths
The COVID-19 update for Maui County on Sunday reports 16 new cases on Maui and one new case on Molokaʻi. There were two reported COVID-19 deaths on Maui. The countyʻs 7-day average of cases per 100,000 people dropped to 9.5, which remains the lowest in the state.
Oct. 9, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 196 New Cases in Hawai‘i, 4 Deaths
On Saturday, the downward trend in new COVID-19 cases continued in Hawaiʻi with the report of 196 new cases, including 16 on Maui. There also were four deaths reported.
Maui Mayor Requests Easing of COVID-19 Restrictions, Awaits Governor’s Approval
Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino has made a request to Hawaiʻi Gov. David Ige to ease some COVID-19 restrictions in the county due to a decline in the number of cases, the stabilization of the health care system and a 7-day average testing positivity rate of 2.22 percent, lowest in the state.
Hawai‘i’s Health Care System has Stabilized: Easing of COVID-19 Restrictions for O‘ahu
Governor David Ige joined Health Care leaders and Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi in announcing the easing of some COVID-19 restrictions on the island of Oʻahu. This includes allowing up to 1,000 attendees for outdoor seated entertainment (including UH football games), 500 attendees for indoor seated entertainment, and more, with safety measures in place.

Maui Health Now Providing COVID-19 Booster Shots to All Eligible Individuals
The Maui Health clinic will now provide booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine to all eligible health care and other frontline workers, including teachers and hotel employees, whose occupation or workplace settings present an increased risk of infection or transmission of COVID-19.

BREAKING: Victorino Lifts Ban on Spectators at Youth Sports Not Sanctioned by DOE
Maui Mayor Michael Victorino has decided to lift the ban on spectators at youth sports events held outdoors, even though all of his requests that were submitted for approval earlier this week to relax current orders, were denied by the governor.

“You can see that now we are trending down–we’re absolutely heading in the right direction; but we’re still far above what the peak was for previous surges. So that’s why we’re asking that people be patient,” said Dr. Libby Char, state Health Director.

Mayor Proposes Changes to Relax Maui’s “Safer Outside” Rules
Maui Mayor Michael Victorino has sent a request to Governor David Ige to relax Maui’s Safer Outside Emergency Health Rules, which went into effect on Sept. 15, 2021.
