Maui Firefighters were called to assist in returning a stranded turtle to sea after it had washed ashore in powerful tsunami wave action in Kahului this morning.

Two separate wastewater overflows were discovered at 7:30 this morning in Paukukalo and Napili on Maui. The overflows occured during planned operational shutdowns of pump stations in preparation of the imminent tsunami impacts.

Country crews continue debris removal and maintenance work at several island locations following a series of tsunami waves overnight and into the morning hours.
