The Wailuku First Friday event is a free community street party showcasing Maui artists, crafters and food vendors. Wailuku First Friday on July 3 will celebrate and salute the USA.

Mantokuji O-Bon Festival Slated for July 10 & 11

The Mantokuji Soto Zen Mission O-Bon Festival will be held on July 10 and 11. Services will begin at 6 p.m. in the temple. Food booths will open at 6:30 p.m. Taiko performances by Maui Taiko on July 10 and Zenshin Daiko on July 11 will begin at 7 p.m. A Bon dance will follow on both nights from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Maui’s Flecha Tovar Crowned Ms. Hawaiʻi America 2015

Flecha Tovar of Kīhei, Maui, won the State Title of Ms. Hawaiʻi America 2015 over the Memorial Day weekend and advances to compete for the national Ms. America title on August 29, 2015 in Brea, California. She was one of two Mauian’s who brought home pageant titles over the Memorial Day weekend.
