Hotel executives announced the start of an extensive $12 million guest room restoration project at the Travaasa Hāna resort in East Maui. Upon completion of the project at the end of 2015, all 70 bungalows and suites at the resort will offer new and returning guests an enhanced vacation experience, according to a resort announcement.
Income and Assets Increase at First Hawaiian Bank
First Hawaiian Bank’s net income for the first half of 2015 was $113.3 million, an increase of 3.8 percent over the first half of 2014, the bank reported last week.

Hawaiian Electric Proposes Community Solar Pilot Project
Hawaiian Electric Company has filed a proposal for a community solar pilot program with the Hawai‘i Public Utilities Commission.
