Rescue crews launched a search on Oahu this afternoon for a possible missing diver in an area north of Pokai Bay.

A visitor was rescued from waters off of Central Maui yesterday after calls were made of a windsurfer in distress.

The Hana Highway (Hwy 360) is now open at mile marker 26 in Nahiku. Crews were alternating traffic using one lane because of a large tree and utility lines that were blocking the highway.

Authorities say the woman, who was a local resident, reported being disoriented for a short period of time, but found her way back on track. She did not require any medical attention, according to officials.

Fire crews on Maui were dispatched after receiving reports of a fire within the carport of a Napili Gardens townhouse on Friday afternoon. When crews made entry into the carport at around 2:20 p.m., they found an overheated garage door motor with combustion residue on the ceiling.

Governor Abercrombie notified the State Legislature this week of his intent to veto 19 bills. To date, the governor has signed more than 150 measures into law. The deadline to veto bills, sign them into law, or let them become law without his signature, is July 10.
