California Woman Injured in Shark Attack at Makena Landing

A 51-year-old woman from California was attacked by a shark about 20 yards off-shore of Makena Landing on Saturday. The woman was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in stable condition after suffering puncture wounds to her right inner thigh, and lascerations to the front and back of her right hand.

UPDATE: Hawai’i Tsunami Advisory Cancelled

According to PTWC officials, tsunami wave heights across the state are now below advisory levels and continue to diminish. Based on all available data, the PTWC is now cancelling the Tsunami Advisory.
