In honor of National Volunteer Week 2021, April 18-24, the County of Maui Department of Housing and Human Concerns’ Volunteer Center announced nominees for the center’s annual Volunteer Heroes Celebration of Service awards.

$405,000 Project at Hāna Park Basketball and Tennis Courts to Begin

Cacao Farmers Gear Up for Harvest at Maui Ku’ia Estate Cacao Farm, Public Tours Open

Spring harvest is underway for cacao farmers David McPherson and Palani Wright at the Maui Ku‘ia Estate Chocolate’s 20-acre cacao farm with over 5,000 cacao trees to be harvested. The Lahaina farm also opened for public tours from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., seven days a week, from Monday through Sunday.

There were a total of 1,180 cases logged over the past two weeks, 269 of them in Maui County.
