Animated shorts preserving Lahaina’s Soul to Screen in Kīhei

Cinema fans have the opportunity to view animated short films celebrating the enduring history and cultural heritage of Lahaina at a free event, the reprise of the Hui Mo‘olelo: Lahaina Film Festival, on Nov. 29, at ProArts Playhouse in Kīhei. 

Two short films feature public artworks in Lahaina

Two project films featuring the latest public artworks in Lahaina are being release. The films were created through the collaborative Hui Mo‘olelo: Lahaina program of Maui Public Art Corps, the County of Maui, Hale Hōʻikeʻike at the Bailey House/ Maui Historical Society and the Lahaina Restoration Foundation. 

Blessing ceremony to mark completion of Maui Public Art Project at King Kamehameha III Elementary School’s temporary campus 

Following nine months of programming and development, a mural spread across the temporary campus of King Kamehameha III Elementary School will be blessed on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024. The community is invited to participate in the event, which begins promptly at 12:30 p.m. 

Wooden Wave to hold Lahaina mural project meeting on Wednesday

The talented artists behind King Kamehameha III Elementary School’s temporary campus mural project are set to hold a community meeting at the temporary King Kamehameha III cafeteria on Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
