Free renter’s rights training offered in South Maui for fire survivors, tenants
Maui Housing Hui and SOUL Law Firm will host a Renter’s Rights Training on Monday, April 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pro Arts Playhouse in Kīhei.
As Maui eviction moratorium ends, new law emphasizes mediation over court battles
Maui’s eviction moratorium, established to support survivors of the devastating August 8, 2023, fires, is set to expire on February 4, 2025. Landlords and tenants will instead be able to participate in a new, state-funded mediation process by Maui Mediation Services as a first step before pursuing eviction through the courts.
