The University of Hawaiʻi Maui College is offering a free eight-week carpentry pre-apprenticeship training, March 24 to May 23. The tuition value is $6,000.

The Building Industry Association of Hawaiʻi has announced a strategic partnership with the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation to support the Youth Build Green Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training Program. The $100,000 funding will support the building industry’s future workforce.

For Maui residents seeking employment, the Good Jobs Hawaiʻi initiative is offering free job training through the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College and other online programs through the UH Community College System.

Starting this summer, there will be additional free summer job training courses available for Maui residents through the Good Jobs Hawaiʻi initiative. These free short-term trainings will provide opportunities for people to upskill and earn industry credentials in the healthcare, skilled trades and technology industries.

Free short-term training classes leading to industry credentials in the resilient sectors of healthcare, technology and the skilled trades are being offered this summer at University of Hawai‘i Community Colleges through the Hana Career Pathways program.
