Wailuku First Friday kicks off Festivals of Aloha

Festivals of Aloha kicks off at Wailuku First Friday guided by its 2026 theme, “Ea Mai Ke Kai Mai – Rise Up from the Sea,” in support of Gov. Josh Green’s declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Our Coastal Kuleana.” on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the heart of Wailuku Town.

Murals spotlighting Maui’s natural beauty dedicated in Kahului

Maui artists Matt Agcolicol and Bailey Onaga teamed up with students from MEO’s Youth Services program to paint “Oneloa & Keoneʻōʻio” on a Kūihelani Highway sound wall in Kahului.

Spectra Fest Lahaina 2025 to celebrate Maui arts, culture and community, June 9-13

Spectra Fest—a movement that brings together artists, musicians, filmmakers, educators, and local businesses to inspire creativity, foster economic growth, and strengthen community connections—takes place June 9-13 in support of the community of Lahaina, Maui. The event includes Lahaina Intermediate School murals with Hawaii Walls, educational workshops for the community by CreativeMornings, a free film screening by HIFF, an urban makers market by Art + Flea, live music curated by TheBrewz and more. 

New Kūihelani sound wall mural highlights Maui moʻolelo

A new mural on the Kūihelani Highway sound wall in Puʻunēnē was created by two Maui artists in collaboration with the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Highways Maui District. Titled “Moʻolelo O Maui,” the 60’ wide x 9’ high artwork depicts the beloved story of Maui the demigod harnessing the sun.

Wailuku Art Space exhibition opens Friday

Maui Comics is curating an art exhibition that opens 5-9 p.m. Friday at Wailuku Art Space, 53 N. Market St., featuring comics and original art by local creators. The gallery run will last through Nov. 2 daily at 5-9 p.m.

Mana Wahine mural unveiling, Aug. 11

The mural will serve as the temporary construction wall surrounding the future site of The Parlay, a new retro-style tavern at the northeast corner of Main Street and North Church Street in Wailuku.
