Temporary Outage caused by tripped unit at Maalaea

Several areas of Maui experienced temporary power outages this afternoon when a generating unit at the Maalaea Power Plant tripped offline.

Waiehu Outage Likely Caused by Accumulated Moisture

Power outages reported in Wailuku and Waiehu last night were likely caused by an accumulation of moisture on electrical equipment.

MECO Power Outages and Updates 1/13/11

At this time (9:20 a.m.) there is a small area in Paia without power. Crews are on site however access and flooding in the area is hampering repair efforts.

Storm leads to Isolated Power Outages on Maui

The heavy rains overnight resulted in isolated power outages in several upcountry locations. Areas affected include small pockets in Piiholo, Olinda, Makawao, Omaopio, and Kaupakalua.
