Community meetings at public libraries to discuss Hawaiʻi’s Climate Plan this month

The Hawaiʻi Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission (CCMAC) is partnering with state libraries this month to host a series of community talk-story sessions on the draft Climate Action Pathways (CAP), a plan designed to guide Hawaiʻi toward a safer, healthier and more affordable future.

The Maui County Council accepted Local Government for Sustainability’s invitation for the county to join the Circle City Scan Pilot Project. This was enabled through the adoption of Resolution 21-65 by a unanimous 7-0 vote.

Community Meetings Scheduled to Gather Input for Wildfire Protection Plans

The Hawaiʻi Wildfire Management Organization, in collaboration with the Maui Wildfire Coordinating Group, Maui Fire Department and the state Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife will hold community meetings to help develop new Community Wildfire Protection Plans for Upcountry/Central Maui and South Maui. All full-time and part-time residents in these areas are encouraged to attend.
