The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Statement for portions of Kahoʻolawe, Kauaʻi, Lānaʻi, Maui, Molokaʻi, Niʻihau, Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island. The statement is in effect through Thursday afternoon with isolated minor coastal flooding expected.

A large south swell will gradually fill in on Friday and peak on Saturday near warning thresholds, according to the National Weather Service. Peak afternoon high tides, combined with elevated water levels running about a half a foot higher than predicted and a large south swell filling in, will lead to minor flooding along shoreline and low-lying coastal areas through Saturday. Water levels should fall below thresholds during peak afternoon high tides Sunday.

Peak high tides associated with the lunar cycle and water levels that are running higher than predicted will lead to minor coastal flooding along shorelines and low-lying coastal areas through the weekend and into Monday afternoon. Coastal flooding will coincide with the daily peak tide each afternoon for portions of Maui, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, Kauaʻi, Niʻihau, Oʻahu and the Big Island.

A High Surf Advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday for the north and west facing shores of Niʻihau, Kauaʻi and Oʻahu. There is also a Coastal Flood Statement in effect from tonight through early Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Statement, in effect from 2 p.m. this afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. The NWS says timing will occur in the afternoon hours around the daily peak tides through Wednesday.
