Artist, Dale Zarrella, a Maui-based sculptor and painter unveils his newest masterpiece at Fairmont Kea Lani’s lobby this afternoon, July 4, at 2 p.m. He has been working on the 8-foot “Wailea Mermaid” sculpture for more than 11 years and is finally ready to share her with the public.

Bishop Larry Silva of the Diocese of Honolulu, will bless a bronze image entitled Father Damien, created by Maui-based sculptor Dale Zarella in honor of Saint Damien, the Belgian priest who volunteered to care for patients exiled to Molokaʻi.

Renowned sculptor Dale Zarrella joins Fairmont Kea Lani as their new artist in residence. He has worked for Pope Francis and Pope Benedict at the Vatican.
