Maui police cold case unit highlights missing persons cases, seeks help in locating them

The Maui Police Department has released short videos highlighting missing persons cases that are being investigated by the department’s Cold Case / Missing Person Detail unit. Over the past month, the department has highlighted 16 missing individuals, including four who were reported missing after the Aug. 8, 2023 wildfires in Lahaina.

David Alex was reported missing on Nov. 11, 2016 by co-workers after he failed to show up for work. His family has not heard from him since then.

Police say David Alex remains missing, but was last seen a week ago in Kīhei, Maui. The missing person report was initiated in Nov. 2016.

Missing Person: Recent Arrival Last Seen in Kahului

David Alex, 20, was last seen on Nov. 7, 2016 at approximately 10 a.m. in Kahului, Maui. He was reported missing two days later.
