MEO installs board members for 2025-26, marks 60-year anniversary

MEO names Bishop Pahia Volunteer of the Year; Bayer Benefactor of the Year
Retired Maui Economic Opportunity staffer Bishop Pahia, who continues his work to help those released from jail and prison transition to life in the community, was named MEO’s Volunteer of the Year on Friday at the nonprofit’s Valentine’s Day luncheon at the Maui Beach Hotel.

Maui Economic Opportunity’s 6th Gala, the agency’s largest annual fundraiser set for March 22, is sold out. The event honors Grant Chun, recently retired Hale Mahaolu Executive Director, former MEO Board President and community leader, and MEO’s 60th anniversary.
Bayer Hawaiʻi Science Education Fund Accepting Applications for Grant Program
The Bayer Fund is accepting applications for its Bayer Hawaiʻi Science Education Fund grant program with a deadline set for Friday, May 21, 2021. The grant program is open to public schools serving students at the intermediate, high school and college grade levels on the islands of Maui, Molokaʻi and Oʻahu.
