Aug. 9, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 437 Cases, 1 Death on O‘ahu

There were 437 additional COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i on Monday. It comes after four consecutive days in which the state’s total new cases has been in the 600s. The confirmed cases included: 288 on O‘ahu (+5 probable); 68 on Hawai‘i Island (-1 probable); 41 on Maui (+11 probable); 16 on Kaua‘i; Molokaʻi (+4 probable); and five in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed while out of state.

July 30, 2021 COVID-19 Update: 622 Cases *Due in Part to Backlog, 3 Deaths

The state Department of Health reports that there were 622** additional COVID-19 cases in Hawai‘i on Friday. **An interruption in electronic lab reporting earlier this week resulted in incomplete case counts reported since Tuesday. The balance of positive COVID-19 tests that were not reported due to the recent interruption were included in today’s count.

2 Cases of “Delta” Variant Detected on Maui; DOH Confirms 13 Cases in Four Counties

To date, nine cases of the Delta variant have been detected on O‘ahu, two on Maui, one on Kaua‘i and one on Hawai‘i island.

Hawai‘i DOH Lab Detects Community Spread of Delta Variant

To date there have been three cases of the Delta variant associated with travel from the continental United States. Two of those cases are on O‘ahu and one is on Hawai‘i Island. In addition, the State Laboratories Division has identified the Delta variant in a specimen from an O‘ahu resident with no history of travel. The Department of Health is investigating to determine the extent of household and community transmission.
