“Waterman,” a documentary film that explores the life of Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, has received a News and Docs Emmy nomination for Outstanding Historical Documentary.

Waterman, which highlights the life and legacy of Duke Kahanamou, opened exclusively in Hawai‘i theaters on Friday, April 1, and in two days, it climbed to the No. 1 documentary in America.

Kids clinics will take place on Oʻahu, Lānaʻi and Maui and will feature instruction from Chaminade coaches and players from the men’s and women’s basketball teams. A coaches’ clinic will be held on Lānaʻi.

The Maui Jim Maui Invitational announced a two-day ticket special for Maui residents will take place Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28, at four Maui locations.

The 2018 Maui Jim Maui Invitational attracted almost 7,000 visitors and generated $21.99 million in sales statewide.
