No Tsunami Threat After 4.3 Hawaiʻi Quake
There is no tsunami threat to Hawaiʻi following a preliminary magnitude 4.0 earthquake reported at 8:16 a.m. HST on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 in the summit region of the Kīlauea Volcano on Hawaiʻi Island, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
4.2 Hawaiʻi Earthquake off of Kailua-Kona
There were no immediate advisories issued following a magnitude 4.2 earthquake reported at 8:42 p.m. about 35 miles WNW of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
Two Quakes, No Tsunami: 3.3 Near Hana Maui, 6.0 in N California
There were two earthquakes of interest reported overnight–the first, a 3.3 earthquake was reported 32 miles NE of Hāna, Maui at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014; and a separate, a 6.0 earthquake located about 6 miles SSW of Napa, Caifornia reported about 20 minutes later at 12:20 a.m. HST (3:20 a.m. Pacific Time near the epicenter).
