Evacuation Warning, advisory for certain Lahaina neighborhoods due to flooding

Both an evacuation warning and an evacuation advisory have been issued at 6 p.m. today, March 14, 2026, for Wahikuli and Leialiʻi areas below Ka Laʻi Ola in Lahaina due to fast-moving floodwaters from nearby retention basins nearing capacity, according to Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). Warnings and advisories are not mandatory evacuation orders.

Maui wildfire updates for Aug. 10: Death toll rises to 55; fires still active; FEMA assistance available

As firefighting efforts continue, two additional fatalities have been confirmed this evening amid the active Lahaina fire. This brings the death toll to 55 people. Maui wildfire updates: Death toll rises to 36; 271 structures impacted

Update: 10 p.m., Aug. 9, 2023. As firefighting efforts continue, 36 fatalities have been discovered today amid the active Lahaina fire. The 36 total includes the six deaths reported earlier today.

UPDATE: Residents of Skill Village in Pāʻia Advised to be Prepared for Possible Evacuation

A brush fire is burning in the Pāʻia area. The Maui Emergency Management Agency issued a notification at 10:04 p.m. (7.8.20) for Skill Village residents to “prepare your families, pets, and residences for possible evacuation if notified. Monitor for additional information and be prepared for possible evacuation.”
