OHA, Hawaiian Council launch $6.1M emergency aid for Native Hawaiians

The Hawaiian Council is now accepting applications for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs’ $6.1 million Emergency Assistance Program to help Native Hawaiians affected by the federal government shutdown or the loss of SNAP (food stamp) benefits.

Tokuda urges USDA to reinstate terminated agricultural inspectors

US Rep. Jill Tokuda has requested the USDA to urgently re-hire animal and plan inspection and quarantine workers, after about 200 were terminated last month.

The drive will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with curbside drop off of donations being accepted at the Kahului Airport Main Terminal.
