Haleakalā service trip in early April
Spend the weekend of April 3 to 5 immersed in the rainforest of Haleakalā’s Kīpahulu District on a service project with the Friends of Haleakalā National Park. This is a front-country, car-accessible trip with minimal hiking and maximum connection to a beautiful place. Participants will tent camp and prepare shared meals in the bunkhouse.
Kupu’s Nā Manu ʻElele Steward Program has positions open on Maui, other islands
Kupu, Hawaiʻi’s largest youth-focused conservation and sustainability nonprofit, is accepting applications for the Nā Manu ʻElele Steward Program. The program employs individuals to steward sensitive natural and cultural areas across the Hawaiian Islands. The deadline to apply is March 27, 2026.
Public input sought about adding 100 land parcels to Hawaiʻi nature reserve systems
The Hawaiʻi State Department of Land and Natural Resources is seeking comments on a proposal to protect nearly 100 unencumbered state land parcels across Hawai’i as part of the State Forest Reserves, Natural Area Reserves and Wildlife Sanctuaries systems.

State Reopens Most Parks and Trails, Urges Caution
