Canceled: Utility work required momentary road closure on Hāna Highway, April 13

A momentary road closure on Hāna Highway, between mile markers 10 and 12, on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 is canceled and traffic will no longer be impacted for utility work taking place due to a modified helicopter route and staging area. 

Missing Person: California man last seen swimming at Honomanū, Maui

The Maui Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance with any information on the whereabouts of Kody Barnes, 34, of California.

Brown Water Advisory Issued for Honomanū, Maui

A brown water advisory has been issued for Honomanū Bay in East Maui. The Department of Health Clean Water Branch says heavy rain has resulted in stormwater runoff.

East Maui Kōlea Reservoir Removal Proposed

Since water from the reservoir is no longer needed for irrigation, the state proposes its removal to allow the unobstructed downstream flow of the Kōlea Stream.
