Maui Adopt-A-Street pilot program seeks volunteers to keep litter from streams and ocean
Volunteers who want to help keep trash and debris out of Maui streams and surrounding ocean water are encouraged to participate in the new Adopt-A-Street pilot program that was launched recently by the County of Maui Department of Public Works. To start, there are two adoptable locations: Alamaha Street from East Wākea Avenue to Dairy Road in Kahului; and ʻEhā Street from ʻImi Kālā to Hoʻokahi streets in Wailuku.
Fire at commercial building in Wailuku causes $25,000 in damage
A fire at a commercial structure in Wailuku on Thursday afternoon was confined to a second floor unit. The fire was reported at 1:51 p.m. on May 2, at a building on Hoʻokahi Street.
Search of Waiehu Home, Suspect Arrested After Evading Police
A Wailuku man who evaded police following the search of a Waiehu home last week Thursday, was arrested in Kahului later that same day.
