Hawai’i gas prices reached a record high this week, and Moloka’i saw some of the highest rates, recently surpassing $7 a gallon in what some say is a first in their lifetime.

On Friday night, President Donald Trump announced the US Military began major combat operations in Iran in what is being called Operation Epic Fury. The announcement drew criticism from the Hawaiʻi Congressional delegation over lack of Congressional authorization.

President Donald Trump addressed the nation this morning, providing remarks in the wake of last night’s Iranian attack on US occupied bases in Iraq.  

“More than a dozen” missiles from Iran have been fired at two air bases in Iraq housing American troops on Wednesday night, the Pentagon said in a statement. 

US Senators Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i) and Tim Kaine (D-Va.) introduced a war powers resolution to force a debate and vote in Congress to prevent further escalation of hostilities with Iran.
