Last year, Kīhei resident James Nevius—a musician, composer and playwright—released an album blending classical and ambient music called “On the Nile: A Musical Landscape in 18 Parts.” Next week, on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, “On the Nile” comes to life as a dance and theater performance at ProArts Playhouse in Kīhei.

Singer-songwriter Kimo Nevius, under the umbrella of his one-man band “Promised Road,” presents a performance culminating his year-long project live at ProArts Playhouse in Kīhei on Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

ʻAinakea, a play about Maui in the 1950s, debuts at the Historic ʻĪao Theater on July 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Award-winning Maui playwright James Nevius and Kīhei-based director Mark Beltzman present three encore performances of their virtual play, “Saint Mary Immaculate Virtual High Reunion” after a successful run in January.
