Maui County releases new economic report outlining recovery strategies

The report, titled “A Community-Led Pathway Toward Maui’s Economic Recovery and Future,” presents six pathways and 34 project ideas, which evolved into 11 priority projects.

Lieutenant Governor Josh Green spent about two hours at Maui Economic Opportunity’s Wailuku and Puʻunēnē offices on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, visiting kūpuna and discussing the broad work of the nonprofit agency to help people in need in Maui County.

“Now, because our younger population is not vaccinated, while our older population is vaccinated, the younger people are being hospitalized. I saw a 23 year old in the Intensive Care Unit on Oʻahu yesterday. Fifty-one of our citizens are on ventilators. Half of them are likely to pass away from COVID,” said Lt. Gov. Green.

Maui Health to Hold Walk-In Vaccine Clinic, Twice a Week, Starting April 27

Maui Health will begin a walk-in vaccine clinic at the Maui Memorial Medical Center – Main Lobby location every Tuesday and Thursday beginning next Tuesday, April 27 and continuing throughout the month of May.
