A Halloween-themed thriller filmed at Kīhei Charter School will be featured at the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s McCoy Theater this month.

With 700 K-12 students, Kīhei Charter School is renowned as Hawaiʻi’s first STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) school, prioritizing 21st-century skills and experiential education that extends beyond traditional classroom boundaries.

South Maui Learning ʻOhana, Inc. and its founders were honored in a plaque unveiling ceremony at the Kīhei Charter School. SMLO is recognized as the founding organization of the Kīhei Charter School, which was chartered on May 17, 2001.
