Class of 2025 high school graduation ceremonies scheduled

The first public school commencement on Maui is this coming Sunday, May 18, at War Memorial Stadium for Maui High School; followed by HP Baldwin High School on Monday, May 19; King Kekaulike High at Nā Aliʻi Stadium on Thursday, May 22; and Molokaʻi High School at the Molokaʻi High Gymnasium (The Barn) on Friday, May 23. Next weekend, Lānaʻi and Hāna host graduations on Saturday, May 24. The final public school graduation on Maui is at Lahainaluna High School on Sunday, May 25.

Restoration of two more school bus routes on Maui and Hawaiʻi Island starts Monday

The Hawai‘i Department of Education announced that starting March 24, one previously suspended school bus route serving Kalama Intermediate and King Kekaulike High on Maui and one route serving Keaʻau High on Hawaiʻi Island will be reinstated. Superintendent Hayashi provides update to Maui staff and families impacted by wildfires

The DOE is reopening most Maui schools this week, welcoming employee teams on Monday and students on Wednesday. King Kekaulike High, Princess Nāhiʻenaʻena Elementary, Lahaina Intermediate and Lahainaluna High remain closed and will reopen when it is safe to return. King Kamehameha III Elementary on Front Street was damaged beyond repair. Students and families who were displaced by the fires and are living outside of Lahaina, they are encouraged to enroll in the neighborhood school where they are staying, even if the housing situation is temporary.

KKHS Seniors: Sign Up for Project GradNite

King Kekaulike High School seniors are asked to register now for Project GradNite. The goal of Project GradNite is to keep King Kekaulike’s graduating class safe as they celebrate the beginning of the next phase of their lives after the commencement ceremony on May 19, 2016.
