The scholarships were distributed through three scholarship programs: the UH Maui College Hospitality and Culinary Program, the Academy of Hospitality (AOHT) Program and the MHLA Member Program.

The Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce announced five outstanding Filipino leaders in the community to receive the prestigious Gintong Pamana Leadership Award this year, and fourteen students who are receiving scholarships from the Chamber’s foundation. 

Kyra Ong of Maui High School and Kolea Suehiro of Kamehameha Schools Maui are among a list of 15 exemplary college-bound students who were recognized at the event for their achievements and excellence in academics, athletics, community service, healthy activities, and sportsmanship.
