The long-awaited draft plan, released last week, also calls for improving communication networks, expanding evacuation routes and boosting emergency response technology and staffing.
Reminder: Lahaina Disaster Recovery meeting will not be held this week
Residents are reminded that this week’s Lahaina Disaster Recovery Community Update meeting will not be held, due to the County of Maui’s open house being held at Lahainaluna High School from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, on the Draft Lahaina Long-Term Recovery Plan. The event will take place in the school’s dining hall.
Survey for Lahaina Recovery Plan now available in Hawaiian, Ilocano, Spanish, Tagalog, Tongan
The online community survey launched by County of Maui Office of Recovery to help shape the creation of the Lahaina Recovery Plan is now available in Hawaiian, Ilocano, Spanish, Tagalog and Tongan. The survey will be available until May 19, 2024, and can be found on Maui Recovers’ “Ola Lahaina” page at https://mauirecovers.org/lahaina. Click on the box on the top right to select the preferred language for the survey.
Residents asked to participate in survey on creation of Lahaina Recovery Plan
The County of Maui Office of Recovery invites residents to participate in an online community survey questionnaire to help shape the creation of the Lahaina Recovery Plan. The survey will be available through May 15, 2024, and can be found on Maui Recovers’ Ola Lahaina page at https://mauirecovers.org/lahaina.
