#Light Winds

Small waves and light winds continue to plague the summer so far in Hawaii with no south swells so far — however, an unexpected north swell is coming in.

There has been consistent waves on the east facing shores for a while now as summer kicks into gear. Forget about south swells for the time being – the east side is where its at.

High surf advisories issued for Saturday with two 8-12 ft+ swells coming in for the weekend crowd. It also looks like Saturday and Sunday will have light winds as well, which will undoubtedly translate to more great surf sessions.

More great swells on the way for the north shores of Hawaii. Meanwhile, for the price of a short flight, Mauians can find themselves on Oahu’s north shore, the holy grail of surfing.

The weekend of the 1/11-13 is shaping up to be a great one for surf. The winds are expected to lighten up and a couple NW swells in the 6-12ft+ range accompanying the light winds.

This Thanksgiving, Maui was blessed with a decent 5-8+ ft swell combined with light winds that produced glassy lineups and plenty of waves to go around for everyone.
