Miss Aloha Hula 2025 results: Jaedyn Janae Puahaulani Pavao of Kauaʻi wins title
Jaedyn Janae Puahaulani Pavao was named Miss Aloha Hula 2025 at the 62nd Annual Merrie Monarch Festival on Thursday night at the Edith Kanakaʻole Stadium in Hilo, Hawaiʻi.
Update/Postponed: CNHA hosts hula and mele workshop fundraiser to benefit Maui
The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement hosts a day long hula and mele workshop fundraiser, Kōkua Nā Hono Aʻo Piʻilani, on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Windward Community College, Hale ʻĀkoakoa. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit ongoing Maui relief efforts.
Merrie Monarch Festival 2023 Results: Oʻahu hālau wins overall; Maui hālau takes kāne title
Ka Lā ‘Ōnohi Mai O Ha‘eha‘e under the direction of Nā Kumu Hula Tracie & Keawe Lopes of Oʻahu took the overall title at the 60th Annual Merrie Monarch Festival, in Hilo Hawaiʻi.
From Maui, the seven men of Hālau Kekuaokalā‘au‘ala‘iliahi, under the direction of Nā Kumu Hula Haunani & ʻIliahi Paredes of Wailuku, took first place honors in the kāne kahiko and earned 4th place in the kāne ʻauana division. Their combined effort earned them the Overall Kāne title for the second year in a row.

The 30th Anniversary edition of the Hula O Nā Keiki children’s hula competition takes place Thursday Nov. 10 through Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel in West Maui.
2021 Merrie Monarch Results; Maui Hālau Kekuaokalāʻauʻalaʻiliahi Named No. 2 Overall
Maui’s Hālau Kekuaokalāʻauʻalaʻiliahi under the direction or Nā Kumu Haunani & ʻIliahi Paredes earned a second place overall finish. The hālau from Wailuku, Maui also captured awards for: first place in the Wahine Overall, second place in Kāne Overall, first place in Wahine ‘Auana, third place in Wahine Kahiko, and second place in the Kāne ʻAuana divisions.
