Gov. Green travels to Japan to meet with officials, key business leaders

While in Japan, Gov. Green will thank Japan’s government for its $2 million contribution to Hawai‘i in the aftermath of the August 2023 Maui wildfire disaster, promote made-in-Hawai‘i products, and invite the return of Japanese visitors to Hawai‘i’s shores.

Teacher housing bill passes final committee

A bill to develop housing for public school teachers and educators passed its final committee. SB941 authorizes the state’s School Facilities Authority (SFA) to partner with public and private agencies to construct teacher housing with early child care centers, beginning at Mililani, Nānākuli, and Waipahu high schools.

Lt. Gov. Luke launches annual State Employees’ Food Drive

For the first time in its 24-year history, the food drive to support the Hawaiʻi Foodbank held its kickoff at a University of Hawaiʻi baseball game

The Lt. Governor started her visit by greeting students in Korean and sharing with them her own language experiences and stressing the value of speaking the language of one’s culture.
