Maui Health has launched a “Keep It Kind” pledge as part of National Workplace Violence Prevention Awareness Month in April, to raise awareness about the rise in workplace violence incidents in healthcare.

Sarah has been in healthcare for over 11 years and was Maui Memorial Medical Center’s first-ever DAISY Award honoree, an international award recognizing extraordinary nurses. She lost her home and all of her belongings in the Lahaina fire.

In her new capacity, Horikawa-Barth will be responsible for all nursing departments and work closely with the executive team and other leaders to continue to improve quality, processes, and the patient and employee experience.
