Maui Now Survey: Respondents Divided on Coronavirus Concerns, Majority Very Concerned About Economy
Responses for the survey were collected for seven days between Monday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, 26, 2021. Announcements to the public to take the survey were posted on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the Maui Now website.
Dec. 19, 2020 COVID-19 Update: 156 New Cases (116 O‘ahu, 14 Maui, 21 Hawai‘i Island, 1 Kaua‘i, 4 Out-of-State)
There were 156 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Saturday, including 116 on O‘ahu, 14 on Maui, 21 on Hawaiʻi Island, one on Kauaʻi and four in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed outside of the state. According to the latest mapping updates provided by the state Department of Health there were six cases in Lahaina, three in Wailuku, and two each in Makawao and Spreckelsville.
Dec. 18, 2020 COVID-19 Update: 130 New Cases (105 O‘ahu, 11 Maui, 7 Hawai‘i Island, 1 Kaua‘i, 6 Out-of-State); 1 Deaths
There were 130 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Thursday, including 11 on Maui. According to the latest mapping updates provided by the state Department of Health there were six cases in Wailuku, three cases in Kīhei, two in Lahaina, and one case each in Kahului, Kula and Spreckelsville. Since only 11 new infections were documented today, three of the cases would have been from outstanding previous reports.

There were 142 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Thursday, including seven on Maui. The new Maui infections include two each in Kīhei and Makawao, and one case each in Lahaina, Kahului and Kula. Lahaina has the most current infections in Maui County with 58 cases reported over the past two weeks.
Dec. 16, 2020 COVID-19 Update: 110 New Cases (85 O‘ahu, 14 Maui, 5 Hawai‘i Island, 6 Out-of-State); 4 Deaths
There were 110 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Wednesday, including 14 on Maui. The new Maui infections include 10 cases in Lahaina, two in Kīhei and one in Wailuku. One case on Maui is unaccounted for in the mapping update. Of the 856 cases documented in Maui County over the course of the pandemic, Lahaina has the most current infections with 60 cases reported over the past two weeks.
Dec. 15, 2020 COVID-19 Update: 57 New Cases (35 O‘ahu, 8 Maui, 10 Hawai‘i Island, 4 Out-of-State)
There were 57 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Tuesday, including eight on Maui. The new Maui infections include four in Lahaina, three in Wailuku and one in Kīhei. In Maui County, Lahaina has the most current infections with 53 cases reported over the past two weeks. Lahaina darkened to the high rate of infection category today, which is defined as locations with anywhere from 51 to 200 cases reported over 14 days. It is the only location in the county that is listed as such.

There were 190 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Monday, including 158 on O‘ahu, 15 on Maui, 15 on Hawaiʻi Island and two in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed outside of the state. The new infections include four cases each in Lahaina and Kahului, two cases each in Kīhei and Makawao and one case in Kula, according to the latest mapping updates provided by the state Department of Health. The two remaining Maui cases were unaccounted for in the latest update.

There were 90 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Sunday, including eight on Maui. While the DOH reports eight cases on Maui, the department documented two cases each in Kīhei, Lahaina and Wailuku; and one case each in Makawao, Haʻikū and Kula.

The Maui count today included 10 cases in Lahaina, three each in Kīhei and Wailuku, two each in Kahului and Makawao, and one case in Kula.
Dec. 11, 2020 COVID-19 Update: 89 New Cases (57 O‘ahu, 19 Maui, 3 Hawai‘i Island, 2 Kaua‘i, 8 Out-of-State) 1 Death
There were 89 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Friday, including 19 on Maui. Lahaina has the most current infections with 42 cases reported over the past two weeks. Kīhei also has a medium range of infections with 40 cases reported over the last 14 days. Kahului has had 17 cases over the same period; and Wailuku was added to the medium infection range list today with 11 cases tallied over the last two weeks.
Dec. 10, 2020 COVID-19 Update: 123 New Cases (79 O‘ahu, 11 Maui, 24 Hawai‘i Island, 2 Kaua‘i, 7 Out-of-State) 2 Deaths
There were 123 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Thursday, including 79 on O‘ahu, 11 on Maui, 24 on Hawaiʻi Island, two on Kauaʻi and seven in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed outside of the state. Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi had no new cases today, however, the state Department of Health confirmed the first case in Kalawao County in the Kalaupapa Settlement area of Molokaʻi.
80 New COVID-19 Cases in Hawai‘i Including 15 on Maui; 4 Deaths on O‘ahu
There were 80 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Wednesday, including 45 on O‘ahu, 15 on Maui, 12 on Hawaiʻi Island, one on Kauaʻi and seven in Hawai‘i residents diagnosed outside of the state. Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi had no new cases today.
53 New COVID-19 Cases in Hawai‘i Including 3 on Moloka‘i and 6 on Maui
There were 53 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hawai‘i on Tuesday, including 39 on O‘ahu, six on Maui, five on Hawaiʻi Island, and three on Molokaʻi. The three Molokaʻi cases today were identified as household contacts. Health officials say one person had travel history, but it is unclear whether the transmission of the virus was from the traveler or as a result of community spread. The investigation is ongoing.
