Nan Inc., which purchased the mill and about 300 surrounding acres in 2024, hopes to turn the old plantation infrastructure into an area for businesses and light industrial use — and potentially housing in the future.

Mahi Pono today announced James “Kimo” Falconer, president of MauiGrown Coffee Inc., to serve as an advisor to the company.

The bill authorizes a Special Purpose Revenue Bond to assist Maui Grown Coffee, Inc. in expanding its operations by leasing land for growing and cultivating coffee.

Caffeine connoisseurs will celebrate National Coffee Day on Sept. 29, and Hawai‘i is home to a range of coffee plantations, mills, farms, and small businesses.

MauiGrown Coffee recently received the Starbucks CAFÉ (Coffee and Farmer Equity Practices) certification, passing the evaluation with flying colors.
