Don’t overfill the County trash cart. Its lid must be fully closed. Overfilled carts spill, exposing workers and the community to possible injury and illness. Overfilled carts may not be picked up.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, announced the new payment option, noting there will be a 2.35% convenience fee added to the total payment.

Our neighbors have a large, open garbage bin/pit full of rotting food waste and trash that is attracting rats.

Mechanical Problems Affect Trash Pickups in Haʻikū/Pāʻia

A refuse truck that was headed out to pick-up trash for the Haʻikū and Pāʻia area today broke down after it left the county baseyard, County officials said. The same truck was also supposed to pick-up a missed trash route in Pukalani.

The closures are necessary for the department to ensure safe operations and meet the minimum Health operating requirements of the County’s solid waste permit.

I am having an ongoing problem with vehicles being parked in front of my residence, interfering with my refuse collection. These vehicles are parked as close as two feet from the edge of my driveway, which does not provide enough area on the road shoulder to place my refuse container.
