Residents encouraged to provide feedback on draft Maui County wetlands map

The final wetlands map will serve as a public tool that will help reduce flood risk for human life and property while protecting and restoring Maui County’s important natural wetland ecosystems. Also, it will help property owners, land managers and county planners with important land-use decisions. 

Public comment sought at meeting about creation of Maui County wetlands map

Maui residents can provide public comment about the creation of a comprehensive Maui County wetlands map during a meeting on Nov. 8 at the Maui Ocean Center Sphere in Māʻalaea.  

Kanahā Pond on Maui to get predator-proof fencing to protect nesting habitats

The new fencing at Kanahā Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary will provide safe nesting habitats for native and endangered birds by excluding mammalian predators such as rats, mongoose and cats.
