Rep. Case announces 2025 winners of his Congressional App Challenge

This year, his challenge saw 16 app submissions from 30 students across eight schools. The challenge gives students the opportunity to focus their skills and creativity on developing, testing and analyzing new applications for real-world use.

Hundreds of ʻōpio inspire voter participation at ‘Walk to the Box’ events

Ahead of the general election on Nov. 5, hundreds of ʻōpio, kamaʻāina and first-time voters took part this week in “Walk to the Box” events in Wailuku, Honolulu and Hilo, waving signs and walking together to drop off their ballots at voting centers. The events were organized by Our Kaiāulu Votes, a coalition of schools and community organizations striving to inspire voter participation across Hawai‘i.

Our Kaiāulu Votes, a coalition of schools and community organizations striving to inspire voter participation across Hawai‘i, will host a “Walk to the Box” on Oct. 23, to encourage civic engagement ahead of the general election in early November. Participants, including first-time youth voters from four area schools, will drop off their ballots at Wailuku Community Center and sign-wave outside Queen Kaʻahumanu Center.

US Senator Mazie K. Hirono of Hawaiʻi announced the nominations of Hawaiʻi students to the U.S. military service academies for the class of 2025. The academies now consider the students’ applications for final selections.
