11 endangered missing children and youth safely recovered on Oʻahu during Operation Shine the Light
The Hawai’i Department of the Attorney General and the Hawai’i Department of Human Services today announced the results of a multiagency child recovery operation conducted over the past weekend, known as Operation Shine the Light. The state agencies worked jointly with the Honolulu Police Department, as well as the US Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Susannah Wesley Community Center, to locate, recover and provide immediate services to endangered missing children and youth reported as “runaways” across Oʻahu.
Idaho Police Confirm: Remains on Daybell Property are Missing Children “JJ” Vallow and Tylee Ryan
The Rexburg Police Department today confirmed that the remains found earlier this week at the Idaho property of Chad Daybell are in fact those of his new wife’s missing children–Joshua “JJ” Vallow and Tylee Ryan. During their time in the islands, Daybell and his newlywed wife made a brief visit to Maui amid the national media attention surrounding the case.

In the brief address, police had indicated that the investigation involves the missing children’s case of Tylee Ryan and Joshua “JJ” Vallow. Ryan and Vallow are the children of Daybell’s new wife, Lori Vallow Daybell who was arrested on Kauaʻi in February and charged with two felony counts of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children when she failed to follow court orders to produce the children.
