Each Sunday, the rooftop at Maui Kuʻia Estate Chocolate factory in Lahaina hosts chocolate tasting and fundraising. It’s part of MKEC’s Chocolate Laulima, a cooperative program that promotes support and awareness of island nonprofit organizations.

Spring harvest is underway for cacao farmers David McPherson and Palani Wright at the Maui Ku‘ia Estate Chocolate’s 20-acre cacao farm with over 5,000 cacao trees to be harvested. The Lahaina farm also opened for public tours from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., seven days a week, from Monday through Sunday.

Maui Ku‘ia Estate Chocolate Inc. announced the promotion of Lisa Foth to vice president and general manager of Maui’s first farm-to-bar chocolate factory.

Maui Ku’ia Estate Cacao harvested the first crop of its kind on the West Side in 2018; a second harvest now provides beans for an upcoming chocolate factory.
