Night Sky Photography Workshop at Haleakalā
A free night sky photography workshop will be held by astrophotographer Stan Honda at the Haleakalā National Park Visitor Center on March 23, 2019 at 5 p.m.
National Park Service to Discuss Kīpahulu Plan, Oct. 15
The public is invited to a meeting to learn about actions proposed in the recently released Kīpahulu Comprehensive Plan and Environmental Assessment. The meeting will take place on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Kīpahulu District Visitor Center.
National Park Releases Kīpahulu EA for Public Review
The purpose of the plan is to improve visitor access to and enjoyment of the Kīpahulu District of Haleakalā National Park while reducing visitor-caused impacts to the park’s resources; to improve safety; and to ensure adequate operational capacity and facilities given the area’s remote location.
Free Admission During Four-Day Haleakalā Park Centennial
Haleakalā National Park will waive entrance fees from Thursday, Aug. 25 to Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, as the National Park Service marks its Centennial birthday.

UPDATE: Haleakalā Summit Remains Closed Due to Ice, Debris, No Power
Due to heavy ice on Haleakalā’s summit park road, road debris, and lack of power, the Summit District remains closed until further notice. Kipahulu District is open but there are many downed trees and rocks on Hāna Highway. The pools are closed due to high water.
